Care Levels

Chateau Retirement offers four levels of specialized dementia assistance. We are committed to care for your loved one for as long as possible. We work with families to contract with outside agencies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, foot care and hospice in support of this goal.

Peace of Mind & Comfort

We are a secure, intimate care setting specially designed and operated to support residents with dementia. We offer a cozy community that comforts residents with the familiarity of a home-like environment. For example, residents and families are encouraged to bring furnishings and family photos that create calming familiarity in their personal living spaces.

Dedicated & Compassionate Staff

• Oversight provided by our dedicated Memory Care Director with support from our full-time LPN and company RN
• Caregivers are hired for their experience with, compassion for and understanding of dementia-related diseases
• Ongoing specialized dementia care training is provided to all caregivers
• Our staff patiently interacts with our residents in the moment that is real to them

At Chateau Pacific, we are committed to provide our dedicated Memory Care staff with ongoing specialized dementia training, including:

Part Time Fitness Instructor

The Instructor, under the supervision of the Fitness Director, is responsible for conducting safe and effective exercise classes for our elderly residents. The position is for approximately 3-6 hours per week to start, with potential for more.

This position requires a minimum of one year experience working with elderly clients, ACSM, ACE or comparable certifications for group exercise and personal training, with additional training in special populations. Ability to communicate effectively and work patiently, compassionately and respectfully with older adults with multiple physical and cognitive challenges is essential.

Job Requirements

• CPR and 1st aid
• Food Handlers (not paid for by company)
• Current Driving abstract (some driving required)
• DOT Physical/Drug Test
• Mental Health Training (8 hour class within 90 days of hire)
• Dementia Training (8 hour class within 90 days of hire)
• Fundamentals Training (4 day training class 28 hours within 30 days of hire)
• Pass Background check

All above requirements are paid for by company except food handlers card (your time is not paid to attend classes)

Your retirement home apartment at Chateau Pacific can be individually licensed to provide assisted living services, allowing you to stay in your own home and receive services if your care needs increase. Specialized plans are created to meet your needs while promoting the maximum independence and dignity. Our highly-trained assisted living staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide assistance with both emergency and assisted living care needs, including:

• Personal laundry
• Daily housekeeping
• Medications, bathing, and dressing
• Blood pressure and weight checks
• Reminders or escorts to meals and activities
• Transfer assistance
• Supervision for people with mild cognitive limitations

Q.Do you provide assisted living services?

A.Yes. A Registered Nurse directs our assisted living program. Services are provided according to an individual plan developed by the resident’s physician, the resident, and our staff. Charges for assisted living services are based on a point system, so a resident is charged only for the actual services received, not for a range of services.

Q.Do you have a nurse on duty?

A.In addition to a Licensed Practical Nurse who supervises our assisted living program, we have a 24-hour care provided by Certified or Registered Nursing Assistants.

Q.How many meals are included in the rent?

A.Two daily meals are included in the monthly fee, with an option to purchase the third meal.

Q.What else does the monthly fee cover?

A.Weekly housekeeping and linen service, 24-hour staffing and emergency communication system, evening security check, recreational and social programs, use of all amenities including our indoor swimming pool, health club and classes, scheduled transportation to doctor’s appointments and routine errands, laundry facilities, maintenance, cable TV, and all utilities except for telephone. Concierge service is available for a modest fee.

Q.Can you accommodate special diets?

A.We do honor requests for special diets. Individual requirements are considered and agreed upon before move-in. For residents who monitor their own diets, we also provide healthful options, an à la carte menu, and a salad bar.

Q.Do you allow smoking?

A.Smoking is not allowed on any Chateau campus.

Q.Do you allow pets?

A.Yes! We know how important pets can be and will gladly accommodate cats and dogs within limits.

• Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary: Spanning 50 acres, Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary is home to a variety of birds and wildlife. • Chateau at Bothell Landing – Situated alongside the Sammamish River Trail in the heart of charming downtown Bothell, Chateau at Bothell Landing is at the heart of the Seattle area’s premier retirement neighborhood with easy access to local offerings. In June 2009, we expanded our campus with another 72 premium apartment homes located in two elegantly constructed buildings. A Memory Care Community to serve a wider variety of resident care needs is also in the works.
• Chateau Pacific in Lynnwood – Chateau Pacific opened in 1999 and has served as our flagship model for operations for over 10 years. Nestled on 5.3 acres in Lynnwood, just north of Seattle, with easy access to four major freeways, Chateau Pacific offers 139 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments and will soon convert 14 apartments to a dedicated Memory Care Community.
• Chateau Valley Center in Renton – Chateau at Valley Center opened in January 2005 on the campus of Valley Medical Center in Renton, and reflects a strong and healthy partnership between Chateau Retirement Communities and one of the highest rated public hospitals in King County.
